Further updates have been made to the List of Qualifications Exempt from Assessment (LQEA) and will come into effect from 23 June 2025.

This is part of a wider piece of work to update the LQEA to ensure it continues to provide a streamlined pathway for applicants who hold overseas qualifications.

If an applicant’s qualification level and education provider is specified on the list, they do not need an International Qualification Assessment to apply for the Skilled Migrant Category and some special work visas.

It also specifies the points available for their qualification level for the Skilled Migrant Category.

Qualifications from the following countries will be added:

  • France

  • Germany

  • India

  • Italy

  • Singapore

  • South Korea

  • Sri Lanka

  • Sweden

  • Switzerland

In addition, updates will be made to Australia, Japan, Malaysia, South Africa, the United Kingdom and the United States of America for consistency and clarity.
